about

This piece was created during a very strange, beautiful and difficult time in my life. My son Silas's mother had just passed away a mere couple days earlier from cancer.

Ma Ja Le was to play a show at a local art gallery and due to scheduling conflicts Paul was unable to be there. So I decided to to play the show myself and created this piece of music as a document of that time and place and also to have a special piece that could available at the gallery show. It was a beautiful spring that year, especially the day of the event.

This collection of pieces is one of those cases where not fussing over something yields a good piece of work. This recording was culled from my rehearsals for the show. I was playing my standard guitar rig with the addition of a CD player that had some background noises (glitchy magnetosphere noises and birds) I created. Other than that no overdubs, what you hear is a solo performance straight to recording.
